TAROT & SELFCARE | Tess & Vanessa DL
Saturday, 2th Februrary, 4:00-6:00 PM
Tess' journey with Tarot started by using Tarot as a self-care tool in their wellness practice to support their recovery as a PTSD survivor. This is a hands-on 2-hour workshop to explore tarot as a self-care practice, including rituals, spreads, and journaling. We'll unpack some myths about Tarot to create a healing framework for Tarot theory, to listen and hone in our intuition, to tend and befriend "scary" cards, and practice spreads for reading tarot when we're feeling overwhelming emotions. Please bring your Tarot deck and journal. If you're purchasing your first Tarot deck, we highly recommend any of the decks available on littleredtarot.com, all created by independent artists.

About the Facilitator: Tess is a folk Tarot reader, city witch, and zinester residing in so-called Ottawa, on unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin Anishinaabe territory. They are a Cancer sun and moon, Aries rising. They studied history and political science at the University of Ottawa and are an alum of Lindsay Mack's Wild Soul Tarot teachings. "Folk Tarot" is Tess's unique verbiage to describe their Tarot practice, inspired by folk herbalism and with the intention of practicing Tarot as a tradition and accessible tool shared between the people. Folk Tarot honors magic and intuition as our birthright. Tess uses Tarot as a tool for self-reflection towards evolution, collective liberation and love - a tool to best understand how events are unfolding in the present moment, so that we may make intentional decisions about our future that are most in line with our core truths and values.
